I have told her in the past but I think it came across more as me trying to encourage her to smoke rather than me encouraging her to do it if it's what she wants.
I kind of understand her not wanting friends/family to know as it may encourage her to smoke more if she is out in the open with it but feel she should be able to smoke in front of me if she wants one without feeling embarrassed or ashamed or whatever is stoping her from doing so.
