Association Press – Sacramento, CA – Horseshoe champion Chris Mohler is reportedly planning on not attending this year’s 11th Annual, Balboa Open Horseshoe Championship. Sources inside of Epic Glory Productions, LLC have stated the Chris’ busy late spring schedule coupled with lack luster promotion and planning of this year’s Open have caused Chris not to include the Open on his appearance schedule.
Mohler’s absence from this year’s tournament will be a major blow to its relevancy in the horseshoe world. Others, however, fell Mohler’s presence is more symbolic than relevant due to years of lack luster tournament results. “Mohler is much more of token figure head than a true contender on game day,” stated a Young Bull pitcher.
What can not be disputed is Mohler’s ability to turn past horseshoe success into millions of dollars through multiple business ventures. Epic Glory Productions, Mohler’s business arm, has diversified into product lines such as horseshoe apparel, event production, promotions and even a wine and beer label. “Mohler really took what Fisher started with endorsement deals and pushed the envelope…the guy is worth millions,” stated a tournament observer.
What is known is that Mohler will be doing a Half Ironman Triathlon in Napa the week following the tournament. He is also scheduled to attend a Railroad Earth concert with fellow Balboa Open founder Josh Fisher. Chris Mohler could not be reached for comment for this story.
