This info is no shock. It was just a matter of time till he gave up on trying to win it. How long has it been since he won? Pretty sure its been 2 and out the last few years. I understand, I dont like to get my ass kicked and have to stand there and watch the rest of the day. Especially if you are such a high profile player, a legend, a multiple time champion.
But a time comes when you have to make a choice. To show up and do your best and play your ass off, trying to achieve epic glory one last time. Or to quietly fade off with one last announcement, claiming to be busy the NEXT weekend.
I too claim bullshit Phisher. Just another "clever" trick by the master of old bull deception and trickery. Though the trickery has faded with age and lack of reigning champion energy. Its cool, Im sure his cave in that neck of the woods is a nice one. Quiet and peacefull, the perfect place for a legend to lie down and die. Fairwell great one..........
Or maybe he knows he cant handle his boose!
