In the late nineties, when The Open was really defining itself as a premiere sporting party, the week before the tournament was maddness. We were going through kegs at the rate of about one every two days. People would be over by 9am at the latest to get in some early day practice...when I would return from class there would be a line three teams deep to get on the pits.
Some of the powerhouse teams were
Fisher and Wheeler
Mohler and Paiko
Jimmy and Tripp
Kaminskis and Callie
There was a SLO vs Chico rivalry - Chico would bring down three or four teams to participate in the quest for Epic Glory - in the early days we did not have lights in the backyard and played with flashlights shining on the pits...
I look forward to partying with everyone on Friday - Sunday
ACHIEVE EPIC GLORY
