I remember an episode of Petticoat Junction where Uncle Joe goes to a doctor to get info on the doc, and just like the episode where Barn does the same he's told something along the same lines that he'll need treatment, and says 'the heck with that...am I gonna pull through?'
Not sure which show came first, or if it was the same writer.
Interesting.
