I still haven't seen any Marx Brothers films. My taste in comedy is a little weird, I suppose; I like them zany and sophisticated. A good example is Bringing Up Baby. It's screwball, but charming and witty. I am looking forward to giving the Marx Brothers a try, though. I've heard some of Groucho's one-liners, and they are usually pretty clever and, of course, funny.
John Wayne's The Searchers is probably his best film. (I know many people say it's The Quiet Man, but I'll stick with Searchers.) There's action, drama, comedy, mystery---it has it all. Plus, John Wayne does a fine job of acting. Sure, he's still John Wayne, but this movie offered him a wider range of emotions to portray. Needless to say, he handle it very well. I'm glad you enjoyed it more the second time around, Virg.
