I know I've seen Billy Bob Thornton play in something else, I just can't think of what it was. I'll be looking for Friday Night Lights next.
I enjoyed Karl's character the most. He had so many great lines. The one about the gas tank is classic.
Another movie with some good down-home style words of wisdom is No Country for Old Men. I enjoyed Tommy Lee Jones portrayal of a country sheriff. It is more gritty than Sling Blade, though. I will say that I do have mixed emotions about the ending.
Changing Lanes is another fairly recent film that I thought was surpringly good. It's not Sling Blade, but if you happen to catch it sometime I think you would enjoy it.
