So what did you think Al? I watched 3 of the of the evening Castle films that were shown on TCM, Mr. Sardonicus, Straight-Jacket and The Tingler. I think I liked Straight-Jacket the best, although I was like "oh yeah, I've seen this done several times." plus Joan's acting didn't quite seem to fit at the very end. The whole movie long she done a great job being "looney tunes" and then on the end, all of a sudden, she seemed to have all of her noodles in place, well! I didn't believe it. It was interesting throughout though.
I was a little disappointed in The Tingler. I liked the sequence where the deaf mute, Ms. Higgins, was "scared too death" and the inserted color shots, thought that was cool, but overall it was a bit of a let down. Not very creepy, unnerving or suspenseful. The actual "tingler" bugger was pretty laughable! Not as menacing even as the BLOB, haha! House On Haunted Hill was much better as a Castle/Price entry.
I wanted to watch the original "Old Dark House" that came on later but I couldn't get my VCR to work, darn it.
