This was a whole lot of fun. We got there when the gate opened. That meant we were the 15th car in. The movie didn't start for almost 2 hours after we got our spot. It was fun just people watchin'. Folks brought the kids and some bought their dogs. A lot of frisbee was played and dogs got a good exercise... along with their owners. Pick-up trucks, SUVs and mini vans dominate the field. Park it back'rds, then roll out the bed roll and blankets. Then snuggle with your kids or your best gal.
If you have a drive-in within 100 miles of your home, take the time to go. Find out what they serve at the concession stand. The one at the RTE 34 Drive-In in Earlville, IL has chicken to pizza... popcorn too. I plan to make a dinner-movie next time we go. Yeah, you pay a bit more for it, but there's something special about going to the drive-in. Most drive-in movie theaters struggle to survive, so patronize them before they are gone.
BTW, on Sunday 12th, we got a second show. Meteors, about 1 every 2 - 5 minutes.
