Directed by Indiana's Own, Robert Wise, who was complemented by child experts for Amy's tight-lipped smile that children have when they go through imaginary friend stage.
It was a necessity in this film because the child playing Amy lost her front tooth, and to keep from having to getting another girl she was told to only smile with her mouth closed.
