For years, I had a longstanding tradition of watching "It's A Wonderful Life" on Christmas Eve. I think it was last year that I broke it. By this year, I had forgotten all about it until I ran across it online while I was researching stuff. I found an all night broadcast on tv and just listened to it on tv while I continued what I was doing on the computer.
I did watch three films and one Christmas episode:
THE GREAT RUPERT (1950) - This was my Christmas Card theme this year. Decent flick, although I really don't like Jimmy Durante. (He gets on my nerves.) Favorite quote that makes me laugh: "Rosalinda needs shoes!". So sincere and heartfelt the first time but the next time it is not ...attempting to get the money to fall!
THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER (1942)- I wanted to see this film all the way through. I had seen bits and pieces of it, and I guess my initial thought was correct. I don't like it much. I just don't like the main character, Sheridan Whiteside. He is obnoxious!! This is a very "busy" movie, characters running in and out of the screen for the entire runtime and it is a bit too long also. On the positive side, I did enjoy Bette Davis and Mary Wickes. I thought they were good in it. No rewatch anytime soon, if ever.
CHRISTMAS VACATION 2- Someone told me it was not as bad as they say. My thoughts: Yeah, it pretty much is. With the exception of a few Snots The Dog fart gags, it was pretty unentertaining.
THE JEFFERSONS: ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS- Good episode. Caught it on tv.
I did catch snippets of a few other things but nothing worth mentioning.
