Rover 75 Reset

hi Ther
Does anyone know why this rover 75 cannot have the Inspection and Oil service light reset.
I have the diagnostic equipment and it tries to reset the lights and then says it has but they are still there taunting me.
I can read engine diagnostics so it is talkng to the ECU.
HOPE anyone can help.
