I have the same problem too. My disco was in the shop for ABS, traction, slope lights. They went on while I was hearing a squeeking sound that seemed to be coming from the front r area. Dealer said the ECU had fault code and incorrect program. They re-set it and I picked it up - 5 miles later the lights went on again. The dealer says I need a new ECU for $900.00. I have seen several posts that say the sensors pick up noise and this is what causes the problem. I do NOT want to spend $900 for a ECU. I have asked for the fault code and I will post a follow-up when I get more info. Any help here would be good.
: So my abs rely was bad as well as the abs
: sensor on the front wheel...got them
: replaced at the dealer for several hundred.
: I'd suggest replacing the abs relay at first
: - it's under the hood in the fuses R4 I
: think but there'll be a diagram there to
: guide you.

: I have a '99 discovery series II that
: occasionally lights up all three (traction
: control, ABS and DownHill slope). The dealer
: suggested replacing the ABS modulator assy
: OR Bleed brakes and clean all connectors (5%
: success). Any suggestions.
