For a week or so, every time the car was switched off, the electric fan would continue to run for up to a minute, something it had never done previously. Today, after a short journey of around 5 miles, the temp gauge went through the roof and the car smelled strongly of overheating. I lifted the bonnet to find no water left in the cooling syatem so I filled it back up. I took the top off the expansion reservoir and there seems to be the usual circulation of water.
Any ideas as to what the problem might be?
