Get rid of it NOW, thats how my problems started and now I have to get a new engine that will cost $7,400.00. is a known problem with landrover freelanders of dropping cylinder liners but Landrover has none available to do the repair, it would have to be ordered from the manufacturer and require special permission? is a very costly ordeal.

: For a week or so, every time the car was

: continue to run for up to a minute,
: something it had never done previously.
: Today, after a short journey of around 5
: miles, the temp gauge went through the roof
: and the car smelled strongly of overheating.
: I lifted the bonnet to find no water left in
: the cooling syatem so I filled it back up. I
: took the top off the expansion reservoir and
: there seems to be the usual circulation of
: water.
:
: Any ideas as to what the problem might be?
