Alarm goes off for no reason.

2003 R.R. HSE the other day the alarm went off unprevoked. Tech said it may be the hood swelling under heat and the alarm button for the hood popped up enough to make it go off. When I played with the button it seems it can be lifted up approx. 1/4" if I pulled upwards on it. Any ideas or similar problems ???
