After reading all my books and everything i would have to say take it all the way apart and start from the transfercase and work out to the wheel so every thing lines up.And make sure to jack from the frame so all tension is off that wheel.Ya cant drive it like that so as bad as it sounds start at step 1.Never had this happen to me but thats what I would do.
