95 Disco axle bearing?

My 95 disco had a clicking noise during turns. I also noticed in reverse my steering wheel would move back and forth and become hard. I pulled into my driveway and the click went to a grind and a knock. I then discovered i had no gears, i had to apply the parking brake to stop the vehicle from rolling. I don't get any gears at all, is this a drive axle problem or transmission
