I am having exactly the same problem with my Freelander 2002. Loss of coolant without any signs of external leaks. I have tried "Stop Leak Radiator" liquids and it helps in slowing down the leak but I am still topping about half a liter of coolant every 2 weeks or every 700 km driven for the past 3 months. I am wondering whether you have found the cause and the solution to the problem. Thanks.
