"Approved Land Rover Accessories"

I just bought a Discovery and the manual says not to plug any accessories that aren't Land Rover approved into the the cigarette lighter. I want to plug my cell phone into the lighter. I don't smoke, so I won't be using it otherwise. I don't want to cause an electrical problem, so I'm hoping someone out in cyberspace can tell me if plugging my phone in is OK.
