Please could you help me. My Freelander 1.8 ES petrol ( 2001 - owned since new - 58,000 miles) has just started to lose water from the cooling system from no apparent source or route. The bottle needs topping up with approx 1/2 litre of water every week or so. The running temp remains normal, there is no loss of power, There is no excessive pressure in cooling system (indicating a failed head gasket),or evidence of water or foam in oil sump (or on dipstick) or any steam or leaks coming from radiator or pipes. This has only started happening in the last month and I am flummoxed as to the cause. I am reluctant to take it to a Landrover garage as, from experience, they will charge me the cost of the a small countries national debt to just look at it.
