2000 Disco 2 off-roading

I'm new to the Rover scene, and wanted to know a little about the abilities of a 2000 Disco 2 with the air suspension/ACE system/SLS System. I am wanting to take it off-road but I don't know if it will mess with that system at all. Also, would it be better to install a small lift kit or just leave it stock? I appreciate any and all comments.
