Those who cancel at the last minute and no shows are nothing more than time wasters. I abhor them!
I have a 3 strike rule:
1st time: All is forgiven (we all deserve a second chance, right?). I'll reschedule them and charge them a small service charge.
2nd time: It's frowned upon. I'll reschedule them past the threshold of time where their hair begins to bothers them, kindly explain how busy I am (during the appt), and charge them a larger service charge.
3rd time: Unacceptable. I'll get them in, charge them a HEFTY service charge, and sternly tell them that I am busy and have people on a wait list for appts and not showing up is disrespectful to me and everyone else. Make no mistake, I make them feel uncomfortable and nobody has every challenged me or questioned my position.
I have a (clearly stated) 24 hour cancellation policy and confirm appointments. To miss an appt with me will get you on my sh*t list. And my clients know it. And I'm crazy busy!
