hard wax sticking to labia during BBW

I LOVE the Berin's wax, and I will never use anything else, but recently I was doing a BBW using the Berins blue and jet set with jasmine oil underneath, and the wax stuck to her labia. I appled more wax, then tried to pull it off. I was so affraid I was going to rip her skin! I have never had this happen before- normally the wax just sticks to the hair...what did I do wrong? Was the wax too hot?
