Well, here's the thing - I don't necessarily want people to come in if they are really sick. (However, I feel if you are actually sick you would probably call face to face and cancel last minute.) On an average Tuesday, this wouldn't bother me, but yesterday was a very busy day for me being Valentine's day. I could have filled her slot easily had I been given a little more heads up than one hour prior in an email, which I didn't even have a chance to look at until her actual appointment time. I do give clients a pass, and felt that's what I did by letting her reschedule and just saying, "Hey, today is a holiday, I could have used that appointment time." She left me a curt email and that is what ticked me off. It was disrespectful, and I felt like she should be aware of it. I don't believe personally in having a price range, it is against my business philosophy but I know many practitioners do. So I charge everyone the same rate, it would be very obvious and weird if I just raised someone's rate all of a sudden.
