First: Wax Queen! I have learned so much from you! Way more then I could ever learn in school. Everyday I feel as if I get better at my job because of the knowledge I have from everyone on this board! Thank you!
Okay now for my questions:
So my boss teases me for being a "germa-phobe". I am a full specialist. But my money maker is waxing. I wear gloves for any waxing neck down. Not for eyebrows, facials, or mani/pedi.
So if I'm waxing brazilian, I don't touch any of my products that I use post wax on clients with my gloved hand. Always take my glove off. Because I also use some of those same products for waxing eyebrows when I don't have any gloves on at all. My thinking is that the products are never touched by anything potentially nasty. I also wipe them down with Clorox wipes a couple times a day. Also I always use CITRUS II on my tools in between clients. Think about it. I wax a brazilian and use my tweezers. Then I wax an eyebrow and use those same tweezers. Not only am I touching yucky stuff I may be exposing my client to something. My boss says this is me being paranoid. I also just recovered from a nasty viral infection. I haven't been sick in 15 years and the doctor was not too happy to hear that I don't wear gloves on a constant basis.
What is everyone's thoughts? Am I being overly paranoid?
I would always rather be safe than sorry.
