I live in NY and took the 75 Hr waxing course, took the test and got my license.
A couple of years later, I went to cosmetology school, did the 1000 hours, took the tests and got that license.
Depends on what you want to do. For an intro, you may just go for the waxing license or just go full out and go for the 600 estie license. Or What a lot of estie students did at the same time was go for their nail tech lisence. Totally up to you.
