GOOD LUCK TO ALL HAVE SOME FUN
Posted by A Fan Green took advantage of timely two out hitting in both of the first two innings to take a quick 6-0 lead going into the bottom of the second, as Troy Quinn was already 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Tony Goreski hit a two out two-run blast in the second to end the early scoring for Green. Thunder came back with one of there team work innings with a 9 hit; 8 run second to take an 8-6 lead after 2 innings as Joe Santucci's three run triple was a big blow. The game became a defensive battle as the scoring slowed to a crawl over the next three innings with Thunder holding a 10-7 lead after five full innings of play. In Green's top of the sixth things would begin to liven up again as they sent 11 men to the plate. Green tallied a nickel grabbing the lead with four hits, big contributions from the top with two outs, sloppy play by Thunder (3 errors) and a poor decision on a routine grounder making it 12-10 Green heading into the bottom of the sixth. Thunder scratched a hard-earned penny out in the bottom of the sixth with a tough play error, a base hit RBI by Rob (Brick) Sambrick that could have been scored differently, and good hustle on the bases by Carlo Strazzulo making it a one-run game heading into the seventh. Russell Rorick Jr. started Green's seventh with another of many series liners He had but Green was unable to do anything after this. A courtesy runner who failed to advance on a deep fly with nobody out left Thunder in a position to get a force out on the next play that may have led to something different. None-the-less Green took a slim 12-11 lead into the bottom of the seventh. In Thunders half of the seventh S.S. Harry Singleton led off with a line drive base hit into left. Then the Championship Series MVP Brian "Moose" James came to the plate who in the three games to this point had made only one out in the series. To no ones surprise, Moose smashed a ground rule double into the trees deep in right center, a near homerun. The look in Brian's eyes as He rounded second running hard was one of determination and desire to win the game but He was forced to go back to second. With runners on second and third and nobody out An Intentional walk, a routine Sacrifice fly tied it as all runners moved up. Another intentional walk this time to Bill Brown and Rob "Pickles" Bickelman ended the game with another sacrifice fly to left for the final score of Thunder 13, Green 12. Congratulations to Thunder on there success and kudos to Green with there hard dogfight attitude on the field of play. Both teams played Tough throughout most of the series, again Congratulations to all involved on both Teams.

Trappe Thunder completed a three game sweep of the Young Trappe Green Team with an EXCITING 13-12 Fight to the finish. This series was a sweep but two of the three games were very hard fought battles as well as entertaining.
