Game 3 was won last night by Thunder 16-10 in the 8th inning. Thunder started with 3 in the 1st, and Kelly's answered with 2 of their own in the bottom of the 1st. The score was 5-2 in favor of Thunder after 2. Thunder scored 2 more in the top of the 3rd to go up 7-2, but Kelly's scored 3 in the bottom of the 3rd to make it 7-5. Thunder scored 2 more in the 5th to make it 9-5, but Kelly's hung tough to score 4 in the bottom of 5 to tie the game at 9's. Kelly's was up 10-9 after 6, then Thunder scored 3 in the top of the 7th to take a 2 run lead into the bottom of the 7th, where Kelly's scored 2 of their own to tie the score once again and force the game to extra innings. The sunlight was fading fast as the teams came out for the top of the 8th. Thunder started the inning with a Tom Pagel solo home run to take the lead, and then put up 5 more runs to take a 6 run lead into the bottom of the 8th. Kelly's could not mount another comeback, as the sun was setting, and Thunder walked away with a 18-12 win in a hard fought game by both teams. Look for more of the same the next time these two teams face each other. Hot bats for Thunder were: Joe Santucci (4-4 & a sacrifice), Sean Remish (4-4), and Ivo Salvi (4-4). Great game by both squads! The series continues at a date to be determined. Stay tuned for the next game writeup, and see if Thunder can go for a league record 6th straight title!
