Hi Jermaine,
Nope. Since 1945, there were many of them already, can't count them. Two examples were the great PAKA (1997) crushing Guam and RITA (Kading/1978) - which struck bicol and central luzon with many deaths. Just check out these links:

However, IOKE was the first Cat 5 Hurricane/STY that crossed the IDL at this scale. Fascinating indeed, coz it's heading directly towards Wake Atoll. Read my news at the site..as 200 residents were evacuated.
