An area of convection over near POHNPEI is shows some intensification for the past 6 hrs based on animated satellite images. JMA agency put this system under tropical depression status though in my part it is still a Tropical disturbance Severe alert status that possibly intensify within 12-24 hrs. fair divergence widn and good equatorial outflow let this system to intensify though less climatological rate due to increasing wind shear over its path. Still it might reach philippine sea as a strong storm or C1 system by monday/tueday. i will keep monitoring for this one.
