Posted by Dominic SENING (Joan) October 11-15, 1970 - from a 275 kph typhoon in Catanduanes, It arrived at Metro Manila with 195-200 kph winds. Severe destruction mostly at the southern parts of NCR (Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Pateros, Parañaque, Pasay, Makati, Taguig) YOLING (Patsy) November 17-20, 1970 - As claimed, the Manila International Airport (now NAIA) anemometer recorded a speed of 200 kph before it was destroyed. Severe destruction on all areas of the metro. Swaying of skyscrapers in Manila and Makati. Steel bells of San Agustin and Manila Cathedral belfries were nearly detached KATRING (Teresa) Oct.18-21, 1994 - A 120-140 kph wind was recorded SENIANG (Bebingca)Oct.30-Nov.2, 2000 - winds of 120 kph were recorded ROSING (Angela) October 30-November 4, 1995 - winds of 185 - 210 kph left the metro paralyzed for 2 weeks. Very destructive on all cities of Metro Manila. MILENYO (Xangsane) Sept. 25-29, 2006 - PAGASA was highly criticized for publishing a 110 kph recorded wind speed in NCR (and downgrading it into a storm) which did not conform to the typhoon's destructive effects. A highly disputed 130 - 150 kph was more favored as the actual recorded wind speed (some gave 195 kph on 1-min ave.).Moderate to severe destruction in all cities of Metro Manila. Below are three typhoons that passed through Metro Manila but I have no personal record at hand of their names, wind speed and effects of passage: December 22-29, 1947 I hope I have answered your query. If anybody who has info on the last unamed typhoons, please feel free to inform us. Thank you

I have found six (6) notable typhoons (four were very destructive)that has passed through the National Capital Region (NCR) or commonly called Metro Manila. Eyewitness accounts confirm "eyewall experience" and passage on all six.
