I have resided in the Philippines for 3yrs now and have been fasinated by typhoons. I always browse this infomative sight to see the latest forecast and watch the realtime animation of typhoons you upload. Just amazing how they develop from a bunch of clouds, then winding up in a cartwheel effect, becoming more organised and seeing that eye develop. Amazing!
I notice that most of the typhoons generally track east to west then typically recurve in a NE direction or on some accasions they track east west through the philippines, into the S.C. sea and dissapate over the Asian continent.
But in this case (LANDO) I have never seen a typhoon track east west, stall, then decide to backtrack on itself. Very interesting. Is this a first? Has this any relationship with the current La Nina?
Regards
James
