Actually Quinta and Siony is the same system. Because Quinta produces some multiple low level circulation over South China sea due to the effect of broad monsoon trough over the area which Quinta embedded. This low level circulations exposed some deep convections along the area. If you are going to look at relative vortices loop (http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/tropic/real-time/westpac/movies/wgmsvor/wgmsvorjava.html) you may understand that Quinta linger longer over South China Sea. as it erratically loop due to environmental factor such as weakness of Ridge due to frontal system that pass over China towards Japan, and surge of NE monsoon. It maintain its strenght because wind shear that time are 5-15kts, upper divergence were good enough to support its intensity. Its deep convection actually remain to its LLCC during that time (which reaches a Level 6 convection- the hightest possible based on Funktop images-color level). So Siony never exist after all.
And other things, Rolly actually never reaches South China sea as it weakens over Central Visayas last sunday. Its Remnant moves across Luzon that brought torrental rain that time over Metro manila and emerge to frontal system which begins its poleward march (as pagasa said to be LPA).

: Yeah, I wondered too.
: It appears that Quinta and Siony are of the
: same system. I think that Quinta has
: dissipated but her remnants survived and
: re-intensified to become Siony.
: Interesting!!

: Let's see what the experts say...
