does El Nino affect the location of typhoons? i had heard (from PAGASA) that there is a tendency for El Nino typhoons to be further east. I am just starting to analyse this from the JMA tracks, comparing La Nina and El Nino

more westerly typhoons would mean less rainfall in the philippines, given the amount of rainfall typhoons bring
