: I am currently viewing the latest satellite
: animation of TY Lupit in JMA's satellite
: imagery. It seems that Lupit is drifting
: northeast to east very slowly. The mid-level
: low pressure trough is pulling Lupit to the
: northeast. I don't know but it looks like TY
: Lupit is veering away from the country, and
: it's already on a high latitude (17
: degrees). However, I remember a similar
: typhoon, UNDING (MUIFA) which drifted east
: to north east then performed a clockwise
: loop and tracked west-southwest.

At last, LUPIT really VEERED AWAY from Luzon. This became a source of headache for most weather forecasters, like PARMA. It just made its presence felt in Northern Luzon and maybe it was because of the PRAYERS that's why Lupit changed course dramatically.
However, I believe that the best is saved for the last (rather I say the worse)... Tropical Disturbance 95W is consolidating somewhere in Marianas, and most forecast tracks it to mainland Luzon, with ECMWF having it traversing Bicol and Central-Southern Luzon Area. I just remembered Supertyphoon ROSING, which made a dangerous landfall in the country during the Halloween of 1994. If this forecast is very accurate, then SANTI will be the 4th cyclone to affect the country after ONDOY, PEPENG and RAMIL. 2009 typhoon season is insane.
