Well nice to here your stories... actually i become eager to understand weather and climate since way back 1986 after i witness a combined effect of hail and tornado here in Las-Pinas... since then i ask myself what causes this type of phenomenon and start writing down info about weather. After devastating earthquake last 1990 of july, i also study earthquake and volcanoes afterwards after the eruption of mt. Pinatubo.
Our neighbors sometimes ask what keeps me looking at the sky every day sometimes almost a whole day.. well i said to them.... im just studying weather...
now its like iam already bonded to weather and environment to the point its like they're talking to me..
Right now iam doing this study about the relationship of weather and climate to earthquakes... coz i just notice... before a major earthquake begin, too much increase of temperature felt before and after an earthquake happens...right now iam figuring it out if the energy released by earthquake have a significant effect just like an eruption of volcano by affecting the position and tilt of the earth (I remember that after a Chile earthquake, tilt of earth change significantly by 2.7 milliarcseconds, see article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/mar/02/earthquake-chile-earth-axis), to our present and future climate.
well i hope all of you guys help me here...

: Happy to have known you too. Ako naman pala
: I got hooked by Typhoon Saling, kelan nga ba
: yun? Don't answer the question hehe...
: anywayz, I think it's one of my first
: memories in early childhood. I can only
: remember glimpses like our windows getting
: destroyed, etc. Since then, I became
: fascinated and curious about the power of
: the wind. Tuwing may bagyo i go outside and
: watch what's happening every bit from start
: to finish. I was also fascinated by the
: changes in wind direction during a typhoon
: and what can be more exciting than signal no
: 3. hehe... I only became aware of the
: 'damages' come STY Rosing in 1995. It was
: really scary and the scale and the power of
: typhoons became real to me. After that, I
: still get excited about every tropical
: cyclone and I still go out to watch pero di
: na masyado from start-to-finish due to other
: duties. hehe... Now, i'm especially more
: aware of the damages these storms can do so
: I'm not too excited anymore or should I say
: I have reservations now. I also try my best
: now to do some explaining to my neighbors,
: family and friends on what to expect in a
: particular incoming typhoon - as you know
: iba-iba naman ang bagyo in terms of size and
: other spatial features kahit na ba
: mag-kapareho ang lakas. Anyway, another
: "excitement" of mine are the
: onsets of the amihan and habagat, and also
: thunderstorms.
:
: best regards.
