Filipinos are much used to the local Filipino names of typhoons. If you say Ruping, Rosing or Undang...even the elder filipinos know them.but ask them bout Mike, Angela or Agnes and they will be confused. In the first place the purpose of giving typhoons local Filipino names was to give an easier way of making Filipinos understand typhoons...F Y I: babies born at the height of a typhoon were given the typhoon's name for their names or nicknames...
