ROSING: the strongest typhoon I've ever experienced..It's like inside a jet engine from 12mn to 5am - 5hours long!!! - My first ever Davis wind instrument partially damaged..wire cut-off. The only typhoon that placed Naga City under SIGNAL #4! 2. SISANG: my #2 STY!!! same intensity with ROSING although my memories not intact. I just remembered observing my first ever aneroid barometer plunging down to 972mb around 2am! - the walls of my room vibrating with flashing lightning illuminating the nightsky. Aftermath: 500meter stretch of fallen electric posts along Naga's main avenue. Power downed Nov. 26-Dec. 15. 3. UNDING - just read my report over my site. Hehehe. 4. REMING - my first ever EYE encounter but was disappointed because it's CLOUD-FILLED. My first ever observation on how the wind shifted from North to South!!! Superb! Gusts reached 111 kph. 5. LOLENG - The most slow-poked STY ever to passed Bicol. Naga under typhoon conditions for almost 2 days!!! 6. SALING - similar to SISANG's track and time of passage but with less intensity. I was a bit surprised when this typhoon passed. PAGASA mentioned it was only a Trop Storm. For me it's a 130-kph howler! 7. BEBENG - a superb-small typhoon. As the outer eyewall entered Naga around 5pm - I can still see the Sun setting over the western horizon as the strong winds and rains buffeted our house. 8. ANDING - I still recall the headline over the Philippine Daily Express - 2 days before this howler passed by: "KILLER TYPHOON HEADS FOR BICOL" and it was a windy, blue skies-sunny morning. Upon its arrival 48 hours later..our Swing at the garden swayed fastly as strong winds passed by for 6 hours! Our only pine tree uprooted. 9. SALING - most powerful than the other SALING (1989), however, this system just passed about 70 km. north Naga with strong winds/heavy rains being felt in the afternoon of Oct. 18. 10. UNSANG - I took an overnight stay at our local PAGASA with my friend forecaster Terry Agu. Helped broadcast typhoon bulletins over the radio.

What happened?
Eye passed over Iriga City around 10-11pm (July 13th).
I was stranded there for 3 days due to knee-deep flood waters (I'm glad the PAGASA station has a 2nd floor).
Powerful winds and heavy rains affected the station overnight. Our estimated windspeed: 130-150 kph.
