I think that women have a lot to offer and a lot to say about the workplace. I think women have unique ways of working and solving problems and working with people and designing projects which have not been acknowledged fully. I have personally experienced discrimination for being a woman at work. And I have noticed that I keep secret the ways in which I work and I never revealed these ways to male bosses or colleagues. Women are excellent at communicating and yet I feel we are not allowed to talk freely at work. I want to have a space where women can speak freely. What each individual has to say is important! I think women have a lot of ideas on how we can work at work as women or ideas on changes which could make work more human and palatable if not downright creative! With the advent of the new economy comes new ways of working. The hierarchical and patriarchal power structure of business is in transition mainly because of the influence of the Internet on business. The corporate power structure will no longer be from the top down but is being put in the hands of individuals like women. But we have to seize the opportunity! Women have unique approaches and skills and innate wisdom to step in and manifest a whole new way of working! We already know it; we just need encouragement and a place where such ideas can be expressed. Women need to be able to talk freely about these issues about work and their ideas about work.
