Posted by Dana Todd on 10/3/2001, 1:16 pm As a business owner, and a woman, I see a lot of issues firsthand with our employees. We're fortunate, though, in that we seem to have a very equal workplace with equal amounts of strength/weakness between both men and women. My big beef is trying to get young women involving technology in their lives every day. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to know some females (and male, but that's a different newsgroup) who can't even check their email without help! I hope that the next generation realizes how important it is, and that it's not unfeminine to be tech-savvy. My little nieces do, but they're still not being encouraged by their fathers enough to suit me. I want them all to go to computer camp! At Women in Technology (www.witi.org), we've been trying to increase initiatives for young women. I'm on a personal crusade here in San Diego, working through the Jenna Druck Young Women's Leadership conference. Spread the word--get a girl hooked on science and technology! Thanks, "Intelligent Design and Digital Marketing"
Go Lynn! Thanks for following up on this.
