We elect rulers to govern the nation. Governing the nation means helping the people manage life meaningfully. A patriotic ruler uses the resources of the nation for the benefits of the citizens in education, health care, transportation and many similar areas, safeguards the lives of the people, works for the prestige of the nation. Since law and order comes under the responsibility of the Govt. consciousness of the citizens should be the concern of any Govt. that wants order in the society. King Alfred (England, 9th century) was the first Western King to initiate the mass education of the people. Alfred the Great translated many classical works into English for the benefit of all able bodied people whom he wanted to educate. What about our modern rulers who shy people from knowledge?
If rulers are going to delegate their duties to private agencies what are they supposed to do? If they have nothing to do their brains become seats of devil, and thus they may think of ruling other nations. How can we avoid this catastrophe?
