Buy welder first then wire to meet welder requirements.for home/hobby there are a nbr. of good 120v20amp welders.go to welding equip sales
locations and brouze & pick up literature, ask questions also look at lowes, northern tool,Home Depot. Do u want a mig welder or stick welder, investigate the difference. If available take short welding course thru community college.
Call Lincoln Electric 888-355-3213 ask for product catalogue E1-10 "it free", check Lincoln,
Hobert Handler,Miller Matic 175 all good 120 units.Keep in mind a 120 v unit tat works at ur house on 120 ckt may not work at u garage without
tripping breaker because of voltage drop depending on wire distance. If the welder calls
for 120v 20A, RUN A NBR 10 UF UNDERGROUND WIRE TO
GARAGE, NBR 10 IS 30 AMP RATED, this will give u some extra assurance
