conduit might well be galvanized, galv coating has to be removed then I would find something that just fits inside the conduit and use that to make it easier. Maybe a 1/2" bolt. Then adjust the machine so it just makes a puddle in the material. Try to stay out of the "main plume" of the vapors. SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE
