al. hey whats up? i have a word of advice to anyone looking into going to welding school. first of all, dont apply to a welding school, second of all, dont give anybody money who sais they will teach you to weld then find you a job!! let me tell you why. these schools dont have to find you a job if you are paying out of your own pocket. if you r going to one of these schools and the government is paying for it, (workmans comp, ss, or whatever) then the school has an obligation to find you a job whether you can weld or not. you see, if the gov. is paying for that person to go through the school, then the school has to show the government that that student has a job afterwords so the Government thinks it was money well spent. So, if you can get the government to fund your schooling then go for it, otherwise you are getting taken advantage of by some old welder who has a shop and sais he will teach you to weld and then get you a job. haha ya right. once they get your money they could care less.. now that you know that here's what to do if you really want to weld. go to a local fab shop, tell them that you want to weld, if they have an opening you will probly have gotten yourself a job, its that simple. it may just be 10 and hour but who cares, your getting on the job training. way better than 4 to 10 thousand dollars for a bucket full of crap and a big promise. P.S. i am talking about all welding schools, big and small!!!
