We're near the end of a project, building a car tow dolly. The plans call for lengths of cold-rolled steel bar. The plans aren't clear about what the rods are for, or how they are to be connected.
They seem to be intended for the wheel ramp, to sit laterally behind the towed vehicle's wheel when it's in place on the ramp. We're thinking that the rods slide through slotted brackets and that they act as a hinge for the net that goes over the wheel to secure it. Any suggestions? Does anyone have a photograph that shows how this piece is welded on? Or if it sits in bracket slots, then how and where the brackets are welded on?
Thanks.
