Sources used for welding power are prepared in various shapes and sizes. The supply of such sources may either be AC or DC, or both of these. These sources may have the ability to control their voltage and amperage output by several means. a power welding source producing power with coated electrodes can be less effective while welding with solid and flux cored wires.
So to increase the effectiveness of a power source, you must be welding with solid and flux cored wires. welding with flux cored wires produces constant current characteristics and can help you control the arc power.
I hope this will help.
