The Voice Times is telling writers and people bringing in pictures if they use other newspapers they may be violating copyright infringements. Is there anything those people will not lie about. It has been proven over and over that a writers work remains his or hers, no matter what. People write for dozens of newspapers. What about school news, obits, and press releases, do these dumbasses think all of them are also copyrighted by individual newspapers. Surely they are not that stupid? No, they are just trying to bully and lie to people to keep them from writing for the competition.
One guy I know said they tried to get a photo published for a birthday and was told it was $40.00, double that because it looked like their photo had porphed two pictures to one. Also told them it may be a copyright issue.
That bunch will do anything to hurt the Advocate or to lie to sell a newspaper.
