Hi there Irene,
I am a descendant of that couple. My mum was a Smith who was born at Te Kopuru, not far from Aratapu. I have a copy of Henry and Maria (Mary?) Smiths son's marriage certificate, Abraham Smith. He married a Eleanor Maria Campbell at Aratapu in 1896. I believe Abraham had other brothers and sisters but I don't know who they are, one may have been Dorothy? or Polly?. Abraham was born at Opononi in 1873 and he was a Master Mariner working on the boats on the Northern Wairoa between Dargaville and Helensville.
Would be gr8 to hear from you to see how you fit in and how you know of the above dates as I have never seen that before.
