Hi Cheryl I think your husband and I could be related as my great great great great could be one more great or one less still figuring this out grandmother was maria louisa claras sister. I have always been lead to beleive that twhiao was my ggggg grandfather but it seems more likely that it is Te Whero whero as the age gap between irihapeti and twhiao is very similar maybe one or two years difference in ages I think they may have been brother and sister but with different mothers am still researching this. My iwi is Tainui and my marae is turangawaewae we thought it was kawhia as that is where the reunion took place but when I registered on the tribal register they informed me that it was turangawaewae in Ngruawhaia. If you have any more info it would be appreciated I am in the process of contacting someone at the marae to gather more information as it sounds very interesting. Where abouts are you living. I am in Hamilton NZ.
